Trip to the Zoo

 Alycia's family and John made it to town and we took a trip to the Zoo. 

We made it an all day thing to see all the animals.

I was so thankful that Emily rented this stroller at the Zoo it was a lifesaver.

Being at the zoo, you got to have some pictures of some animals. We saw a lot, here are pictures of two, sunbathing in the hot sun. We had a lot of fun today.

A Little Hike & A Little Play

One day while the Guptill's were here we took the kids for a hike, I saw the path earlier that week and thought it would fun to walk, not knowing where it led. We hiked on a paved trail that led us through the park of nature trails and to the river. It was a lot of fun.

On the hike the kids found a little bridge that led over a little creek/waterfall. After the hike we headed over to a park that my mom use to take us to when we were kids. The kids had a lot of fun at the park.

Multnomah Falls & Bonneville Dam

Scotty and Emily came up for a week in July, while they were here we had a lot of fun and many adventures.

The second day that they were here we went up to Multnomah Falls. I love going up there it is so pretty. We went up to the second bridge in the photo below and took in the view. The water was not flowing as hard this time around from when we came in January.

We also went a little further down the road to the fish hatchery, it was pretty neat to see. I think I have been there before but I can't remember so it was fun to take the kids there. And see the different size of the fish as they grow. There were some pretty big fishes there. The kids were also able to feed the fish and it was fun to see the fish kind of jump up to get the food.

Then went a little further down the road and saw a fish ladder at the Bonneville Dam. It was fun to see how the fish try so hard to make it up the ladder and how the ladder is diverted from the path of the dam. It was also fun to see the turbines, brought back memories of when I was a dam worker when I was 19 years old. It was a fun trip.

Jaron's Cub Scout Day Camp

My mom is the cub master in her ward, she does an awesome job. And it was such a blessing, since we were moving I knew Jaron would not be able to go cub scout day camp. But my mom sign him up so he could go with her ward. He was so excited. The night before the first day of camp, he got sick. He missed the first day, but he willed himself back to good health so he could make it to camp. He was so determined to make it. And he was so excited everyday that he went.

My mom and I both got the opportunity to go up and help the day at the camp. It was fun to go up and see him get to try new things and make new friends.

This the group he was with at camp there name was Gemini.

One of the crafts we made while I was there was a little rocket;made out of a film canister, altazier, and water. 

We are for the rockets to POP into the air. You can see them lined up on the wood sink.

He also learn to shoot a BB gun (he is the one in the brown jacket), and to do archery. Those were two of his favorite things. 

He also did a egg toss while I was there. You were supposed to pad your egg and then they put it in a giant sling shot, and shot it across the field and his survived.

They are having a race with t.p. roll that they decorated into a rocket and then it was placed on a fishing line. The fastest you could blow yours across with a straw won.

Jaron had so much fun at camp. He made new friends which he was excited about because some of them ended up being in his school class. He made lots of space crafts and wood crafts. He learn new songs. Earn some patches and had a great time all around. Thank you so much mom.

Alaska Bound

On July 9th Kyle boarded a plane for Soldotna, Alaska to start his job as a Nuclear Medicine Techogolist. He went on ahead of us to get adjusted to his job and save some money.The Soldotna area is a very touristic town, people like to go there to go fishing in that area during the summer months. Kyle says it is very beautiful up there. The first couple months that Kyle went to church he said that there were so many visitors that he just blended in with the crowd. Everybody up there have been very nice to him and welcome him. He has gotten a calling that he loves, working with the Youth in the church, he is the Deacon leader.

The Nuc Med department at the hospital he is working at is a one camera, one man department. When he first got there he work with the other guy in the department, to learn all the paper work for the hospital and then three weeks later he was on his own. He loves working with the people and being a Nuc Med Tech.

Kyle's Graduation Part 2

I know that it has been a couple months since Kyle graduated, but the first post I put up was pictures from Kallie's camera and I never got around to the ones on mine. These are pictures that we had taken after the ceremony at the little social they do afterwards.

The whole time that Kyle was going to school, I told him I wanted him to walk. So I could get a picture of him in his cap and gown with the whole family. Now the picture I dreamt of the whole time was not the one I got. 

 Here is the family picture. Not exactly what I was hoping for (Karlee eating an apple, weird faces from the kids, and sunglasses), we were only able to get one picture snapped with all that was going on. But you I am grateful that we did get a family picture. :0)

 I loved it, Kyle was smiling from ear to ear that day. I don't blame him, I was too. 

I am so proud of him.

P.S. He is really enjoying working as a Nuc Med Tech! He loves his job!
