Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day
to Dad and Kyle you both are such awesome dad's!
Jaron had made a gift for Kyle for Father's day at school before it got out. He held onto that gift and made sure that it came with us in the move. It was cute the bag said "Top secret classified" with like fifteen staples to seal it close. It was a cute book of all of Jaron's drawing of the past year, such a keeper he has the cutest drawings.
The kids also made Kyle a crown that said the "Worlds #1 Dad".
I also took the kids to the park. It was a beautiful day, one of the few days that the sun was really came out this summer. So it was nice to get out and enjoy it. I wanted to get a picture of them with We love daddy on the bottom of there feet. I saw someone else had done it and thought it would be a fun picture for Kyle :0)
Since I had all four kids there I wanted to get a group shot of the kids for the wall. Lately Karlee has not been into getting her picture taken and she will really be a pill about it. So here are the three older ones...
And Karlee trying to hide from the camera.
But I got a picture of that cutie.

Ninth Day

On the ninth day it was Memorial Day, Kyle had it off work. We decided to head to Homer and see the Homer Spit. When we got into town it was lunch time, we had told that Stravin Marvin had the best pizza and wanted to give it a try. No such luck it was closed. So we check around with some other restaurants but they were very pricey. So we went to a place that we knew the kids would enjoy and eat the food.
 McDonald's and Happy Meals
Lulu and Alycia, Lulu is enjoying her drink!
Then we drove down to the Spit, it is like a boardwalk of stores on a strip of land with water surrounding both sides. So we got out, and walked the boardwalk. On the boardwalk there were a lot of wood carvings and the kids wanted their picture taken by all. Here are some of them.
The whopper of a fish and family
Karlee's hugging the fish (good thing it is not real :0)
Jaron, Kallie, and Bob just for the Halibit
Jaron, Little Bear, and Kallie
The five little bears
This sign cracked me up :0)
After our walk on the board walk we headed down to the beach. It was a beautiful beach- it helped that it was so sunny and warm out. This beach had so many rocks, all the kids were in heaven. Kyle is headed down to the kids to skip rocks, with all the flat ones he found.
 Alycia and Lulu just chilling
Karlee building rock people, check our how flat the rocks are.
Love the blue skies and Lulu
Kallie and Kelsie hunting for shells
 Jaron showing what he found
We stop by a visitor center, it pretty neat. It had shows to watch, things for the kids to do. And a little hike out back across the wetlands leading to a beach.
It was a really fun trip to Homer and the weather was beautiful.

Mother's Day

It was a great mother's day. I was treated as a queen. Kyle made me breakfast in bed with this new recipe. And the kids gave me cute handmade items, Jaron gave me a frame picture of his head and told me it was titled the floating head with a sweet card that went along with it. Kelsie made me this cute card at school with a very colorful bouquet of flowers on the front. Kallie made me an armful if friendship bracelets. They all helped out around the house and wished me Happy Mother's Day all day long.
In Primary Karlee's teacher  helped her fill out this form for me, it was funny to see what Karlee thinks of me;

The color of my Mother's hair is Brown.
My Mother is 2 years old.
My Mother's shoe size is 4.
My Mother like's to wash clothes.
My Mother is happy when flowers are bright.
My Mother is sad when she sees dogs.
The funniest think I ever saw my Mother do was fish.
The funniest thing I ever did with my Mother was fishing.
I like when my Mother cooks bacon for me.
I like to help my Mother.
My Mother's favorite food is frosting.
My Mother does not like to eat cupcakes.
If I could give my Mother anything, I'd give her cupcakes.
My Mother works at home.
The first thing my Mother does when she wakes up is make her bed.
I love when my mother cooks.
I love my Mother because she cooks fish.
The color my Mother likes best is blue.

For Mother's Day we got the kids bikes, the plan was also to get me one too. But we have not found the right one for me yet. But the kids are having a blast with the bikes. There are many bike paths around town and we are excited to explore them this summer.

We hope that everyone had a Happy Mother's Day. We are so grateful for the mom's in our lives and all they do for us and the great example they are to me. We love you Ma2, Grandma Kenner, and G3!!

Dr. Seuss's Birthday Party

Today was Dr. Seuss's Birthday. At school the kids had a day of reading. Jaron's class got to wear their pj's to school. The kids also wanted to dress up in the Thing outfits that I had put together for the travels to Alaska. I told them they could wear the shirts during the day and I would bring that hat later for the party after school.
The PTA had put together a free birthday party for Dr. Seuss that Karlee and I could come enjoy too.
They had birthday cake. It had a 18 inch Lorax on it.
(Since the movie came out today)
Here the kids are enjoying their cake. On the cake they had tree made of cotton candy for the leaves, it looked cool.
They had to estimate how many puffs were in the bin.
Jaron's teacher wanted a picture of the Things. There was another family of things too.
They also were able to draw pictures of the Dr. Seuss characters.
Jaron is showing you his, the Grinch.

The party was a lot of fun. They also had this fun area set up with a person reading Dr. Seuss book (my kids wanted to do the other things). You could plant a tree, make some slime, and many more things.

“Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.”

New Year's Eve

Happy New Year!!
On New Years Eve we had a fun little family party. .
We started the night off with a yummy dinner of party finger foods and a fun punch.
We played Uno and Skip-bo
Watch the movie Car 2 as we waited for the new year to come.
Some of our party was getting kinda grumpy and we had to get up early for church at nine. So we did an early version of the count down at ten o'clock (pretending it was midnight). At the end we blew horns, popped our poppers.
And gave a cheers to the new year!
Kyle, Kallie, Jaron and Kelsie went to bed. Karlee and I stay up to watch the ball drop in New York. I hope that you all have a Happy New Year and that 2012 brings you Happiness.

General Conference Candies

Do you ever have a Hard time getting your kids to sit still for General Conference and listen to the speakers? I do. I have tried everything from the conferences packets that you can print off from sugardoodle, coloring book and finally just giving up so I could just listen. On one of the blogs I stalk she had this idea, and I thought I would give it a try. And it worked like a charm.
Here is her example of hers. I grab four containers I had around the house and then wrote four words on paper and put it in front of the bowls. Instead of letting them take one each time they heard the words, (they got to excited so they weren't reverent and listening.) I gave each one a notebook that had the words written on it and so when they heard the word they would mark a tally under it. Then after conference was over they would get candy for tally. We changed the words each day, I picked the words the first day and then they came up with the words we were going to listen for on Sunday.
They all got into at first, younger two didn't last that long but Jaron and Kallie stuck around and listen to conference, more then before. We watched General Conference on the internet, and it would cut in and out but we loved being able to watch what we could.

April Fool's Dinner

As April Fool's Day approached the kids kept asking what I was going to do for it. Was I going to do the same thing I did the year before: Here ? I really couldn't find anything new to do for breakfast, figured I wouldn't do anything for dinner. But then I heard some fun ideas on the radio and knew I could pull it off without having to buy anything really.

First Joke:
Eat dessert first.
They all really enjoyed that especially since there was ice cream.
Second Joke:
They each got to pick out a utensil out of the bag with their eyes closed.
Kelsie picking
Karlee picking
Here is Kelsie and Karlee trying to eat with them.
Kallie eating with hers.
Kelsie and Karlee again.
Jaron really got into his. He enjoyed it the most.

Third Joke:
Jell-O as Juice
I made Jell-O earlier that day and so when they tried to drink it wouldn't come out.
Karlee trying to drink hers and she was confused when it wouldn't come out.
Kallie trying to pour some more in her cup.
And Kyle eating with tongs.

Fourth Joke:
Peas and Carrots got the idea here.
Once Kelsie found out it was candy, she was like "this is all I want for dinner". We asked her if it was really peas and carrots would she still want to just it, or at all. She said no, figured. We all had a fun dinner laughing all the way through it.

New Years Eve Party!!!

We had a fun New Years Eve party at my parents house. We started the night watching Toy Story 3 on the wall with a projector. Just like we were at the movie theater. After the movie we broke out the music, food, and glow sticks. We attempted a game of Candy Land and Jenga but the kids were just so excited for New Years and being up way past their bed time. As midnight approached we ran (we really did) into the streets, letting off poppers, noise makers, silly string, and yells for the new year. Came back in and toasted with one another the new year. And then the kids hit the hay- they were really excited to sleep in the living room at Ma2 and Pa2s. It was a really fun party!!!!
Karlee and I with our party hats on. I love how she put hers on.
Kelsie and Alycia in their party hats
Let the party begin!!! (Karlee sandwich)
Jaron is doing the robot to the music, his dance makes me laugh.
Lights on with our glow sticks
Lights off
Dancing with the lights off.
After the party was over, Kelsie was the first one asleep. Tucker out from all the fun she at the party.
Hope you all had a Happy New Years!!!
May you have a bright and wonderful 2011!!!
