Joys of Parenthood

We put the kids to bed, Kyle was talking to his mom and I was talking to my sister. We thought that they were in bed going to sleep. But then Kallie came in and said that Kelsie was cutting up paper and Karlee's hair. I was so sad. Kelsie gave Karlee a Mullet (business on the top party in the back.) I use to be able to put in a ponytail (so cute). But Kelsie cut that right off. In one spot she got right to the scalp. In some of the pictures Karlee is crying my brother-in-law says it is because she knows it looks bad. (Just kidding). Tomorrow we will figure out what to do with it to make it look cute again, maybe shave it all off?

Flash Flood Warning...

...Over there in Jackson County, but there is a flood in my garage. What is up with that? Tuesday I had done a couple loads of Landry, was working on the goody bags for Kelsie birthday party, and watching two kids for the lady I visit teach. She came and picked up her kids, as she picked them up it started to hail which turned into a down pour- wait no it was like someone was pouring a bucket of water on us. At first I thought this was cool and reminded me of the Portland area. I had even let the kids go outside and play in the rain and puddles.

While they were outside I went into my garage to grab the clothes out of the dryer to fold them. When I open the door there was a stream, wait no a river of water flowing through the garage floor. Oh I was sick to my stomach to see all of that water. Luckily when we moved in we put all the plastic boxes on bottom stacking the cardboard boxes on top. so they didn't get wreck. But we still needed to get the inch of water out of garage. So for the rest of the night Kallie, Jaron, and I squeegeed out all the water. Luckily it was muggy out so the water dried quickly once we got the water off the floor.

Fun times for a place that claims it only like rain here 10 days of the year. When it rains it pours.

It's Gone I Lost It...

I know this post is way passed the date it happen. I just need to get on the ball with blogging. I know this might be boring for others, but I thought that my family would get a kick out of it. Jaron "finally" lost his first teeth. I say teeth because he lost both of them so close together. It is his bottom two front teeth. They have been wiggly for the longest time, he would sit and play with them with his tongue but they seemed they would never come out. He went to school on the 8th with them being wiggly. But when I picked him up from school he had a tooth necklace around his neck. He was so proud of his tooth and kept wearing it around his neck ( when I saw him wearing his tooth I thought, those shark tooth necklaces). He never gave it to the tooth fairy he wanted to keep his necklace. :0)

He woke early (like 5:30 a.m.) and was playing with his other loose tooth and it came out. He was so excited he came into my room and (tried) to wake me up to show me. I open my eyes and said that is cool, now go back to bed ( I felt bad that I didn't get more excited). So he went back to his room and went up to show Kallie. She also was a sleep and accidentally knocked it out of his hand and he lost it. So he was never able to put it under his pillow for the tooth fairy. He doesn't seem to mind though. But I think if he writes a note to the tooth fairy explaining what happen I think she would understand. ;0)

To See or Not To See...

That is the question...

Two weeks ago I got a letter from the kids school nurse, which said that Jaron failed the eye exam that they give at school-and it was highly recommended that he get his eyes checked by a professional. I made a appointment and got him in pretty quickly. Since I was headed to the eye doctor anyway I made appointment for Kallie, thinking I would kill two birds with one stone. (In my case the two birds ended up killing the stone.) All three of us went to the eye doctor. Kallie and Jaron were both excited. Kallie went back first while I finished filling out the paper work. Then they called Jaron back to get started. It was time to put the eye drops into Kallie's eyes, she did not want anything to do with that. The doctor asked and literaly was begging her to just do it and I joined in to with no success. Finally the doctor suggested that I get a drop in my eye so that Kallie would see that it doesn't hurt. So I bit the bullet and did for Kallie, it was the numbing drop. I knew that it does not hurt but when the eye is numb it does feel kind of weird, for 20 minutes my eye had a weird itch to it- but Kallie did get the eye drops. Jaron was up next, he was a little hestion to get the eye drop but he did get them (good thing they didn't ask me to do the other eye). Since they were doing the two kids at the same time the kids got a little wiggly. Which made the appointment seem longer and stressful. When I am at the appointments I always say that I am not going to schedule them all the kids at the same time, but just like giving birth I seem to forget the pain or stress and schedule them together again. Like next week they all have dentist appointments together.

The overall results from the eye doctor is that Jaron has to get glasses for reading. Hopefully that will make him stay more focus on his work at school. And Kallie is on the border so until it is worse will she get glasses, but for now no. As we were picking out glasses for Jaron she was sad that she couldn't get a pair for her.

...The next day at school. Jaron's eyes were dilated with heavier drops that made the dilation last longer over 24 hours. So he had to wear the sunglasses that the eye doctor gives you to school. But he rock those glasses and they looked great on him. It was funny with his eyes dilated you could only see like 1mm of brown in his eyes the rest were black. A New Way To Get Around

I know this is a very short video, but I had to share with you Karlee's way of getting around. She can walk, even though it kind of looks like a Frankenstein walk, (not bending her knee and her arms out). But she keeps going back to walking around on her knees. It is one way of wearing out her knees. And she can get around QUICK.

Happy Birthday John!!

A couple posts ago I said I went up to Gladstone and had a fun busy weekend. This is part 2 on the weekend. This is all about my youngest brother John. He was the main reason that we went up to see him graduate from the University of Portland and be commissioned into the Air Force by my other brother Scotty. Scotty is oversea serving in the war. That is why they did it over the computer. And my parents and grandma are pinning him in a couple of the pictures. Since I waited this long to do this post I thought I would wait until today, Because it is John's Birthday Today!!!! Happy Birthday John!! I took so many pictures of his graduation and commission that I wanted to share them all so I put them into a slide show. I am sorry about some blurry pictures. I tried to zoom as close as I could. I love my brother John so much, he is such an awesome guy. He graduated from High School and then went to one year of college. Then decided to go on a mission and he went to Tokoyo, Japan, where I know the people of Japan loved the tall white guy. He then came back to college, to studies computer science for four more years. He stuck with school even it felt like it would never end- but it did. And now he is off onto his next adventure in life. John has a great sense of humor and always does the crazy things I make him do, like in the slide show I made him dress as Harry Potter and he was a great sport about it. He has always been there for me when I needed him, as being Steve from Blue Clues for 3 birthday parties for my kids (he did a great job). Helping us move to Klamath Falls, answering all my tech questions and many more things. I am so grateful for John and that my kids can look up to him :0). Good Luck John in all you do, we are so proud of you. Happy Birthday John!!!

Karlee's 1st Birthday Party

On the Friday night that we were up in Portland we had a birthday party for Karlee's first birthday. The theme that I chose for her birthday party was cupcakes and polka dots. I loved it cause I made a giant cupcake and jumbo cupcakes, so fun. I also made a personal cake for Karlee to eat. It didn't quite turn out the way I wanted it to, but Karlee seemed to enjoy the frosting. Thank you for all those that came and celebrate her first year with us. I can't believe how fast that it went. I hope you enjoy the slide show.
