Growing up on Sunday nights my mom would make a batch of yummy Caramel Popcorn (her dad'd recipe) and we would enjoy it while watching the Sunday night Disney movie. The kids didn't have school the next day so I thought this would be a fun time to do this, plus I have been craving it for a while. I thought I would give the recipe here so you can try it with your family.
First you go find that popcorn popper that you got for your wedding. (The kind that turns on when you plug it in and then to turn it off you have to unplug it from the wall but make sure not to get shock by the sparks that shoot out. Make about 7 to 8 quarts of popped popcorn. Make sure to go through the popcorn and get out all the unpopped kernels. Set aside.
In a sauce pan combine 1/2 cup of butter, 1/3 cup of Karo syrup, and 1 cup of brown sugar. Bring them to a boil, let boil for one minute.
Pour the caramel over the popcorn, it is helpful to have to people helping at this point.
