Happy Halloween

Halloween this year was a lot of fun. I wished we could of done a group theme, but I think they are past that. So the kids each got to pick out what they wanted to be, and then we were on the hunt for their costumes.
Jaron wanted to be Bumblebee the Transformer. He had been planning for about six months that he was going to build his costume out of boxes. And he was ready to start collecting the boxes six months in advance. With the move that was not going work out, I didn't want to tote around empty. Luckily when I was at Costco I found the above outfit, I was sad that it was small, but it was a FULLY made costume that didn't cost that much. It worked for me. He had a blast being a transformer.
Kallie wanted to be a cowgirl. With help from Aunt Emily and Goodwill her outfit came together great for under six dollars. She makes such a cute cowgirl and is growing up to fast.
Karlee has been loving Jake and the Neverland Pirates. We chose for her to be a pirate. Her costume was the only one I made this year, and it was really easy to make. Argh, such a cute Karlee pirate.
Kelsie wanted to be Velma from Scooby Doo. I thought it would be fun to do the Scooby Doo gang as a theme group costumes, but they didn't all want to do it. Kelsie made a really cute Velma. A lot of people thought that she looked just like her, and knew who she was. Skirt and shirt were found at goodwill, but I had fun making her socks. I found a pair of white socks at Walmart and got some orange fabric dye. I dyed them and was amazed at how close they matched her shirt.

On Halloween day, after the kids got dressed in their costumes we headed over to my dad's work where they were having a Halloween party with some trick or treating and making caramel apples. It was a lot of fun.

Then we headed back home and grabbed our trick or treating bags and went through the neighborhood by Ma2 and Pa2 house. This is the group that started out, in the middle we lost Kelsie and Karlee. It got to cold for them ( I forgot to bring jackets for them ( to cover up their cute costumes)). And I took the whole group down a road that I thought would be great street to travel down and have lots of houses, turns out there was like three on the whole road and a steep hill. But at the end of that road it led us to a jackpot of a road of houses with lights on. It was a fun filled night. Happy Halloween.
