On the Way Back to Utah

On Monday we headed back to Utah. It was so much to go and visit Emily, Scotty and the kids. We had so much fun. Thank you for everything Scotty and Emily. Can't wait till we can come again. Sure do love you guys.
We had to get a cousin shot before we left.
Lulu, Jaron, Anna, Karlee, Grant, Kallie, Matthew, and Kelsie.
On our drive back we saw this cloud that looked like a flying pig.
Can you see it?
On the way we stopped by Wendy's in Laramie, WY, and found this great red rock, it is so pretty to see the red not just gray rock.

Outdoor Play - Day Three

After dinner on Sunday we went out back and played. It was so nice and relaxing and fun.
A game of a baseball, soccer and golfing at the same time.
Here is the cheering crowd.
Then another game of baseball.
Little Lulu.
Karlee and Anna made it into the pool. They started playing in their dresses and then decided to go for their suits.
Emily, Alycia and I
Here is Grant he is so cute, I love his smiles.

Western Museum of Mining and Industry - Day Two

On Saturday we took a trip over to the Western Museum of Mining and Industry. We were able to pan for gold. Kallie said that she wanted to buy a gold panning set to take to Alaska, so she could pan for gold up there and make some money.

The museum had machines that were used in mining.
Jaron was in heaven he loved seeing all the machines.
We went on a tour that showed how all of them worked in there day.
You can't tell but this wheel is turning on this, it was huge.
Even manual working machines. Don't know what it was for though.
Grant and Lulu saying hi to each other.
Afterwards the kids went out back and played in the pool.

Day of Colorado Springs - Day One

In the middle of our trip in Utah we took a trip with Alycia and Lulu to Colorado Springs to visit my brother and his family. We had such a blast and the time went to quickly. I am so glad that they are so close again. Thursday we spent the day driving there. On Friday Emily had a great day planned for us, it was so much fun. We first went to this place called Focus on the Family, it is an indoor play place run buy a religious group that also does a cartoon like Veggie Tales.
Here the kids are posing in the heads of some of the characters.
The whole place was painted in cartoons, it was so much and made you want to be a kid. The highlight of the place was this slide that was three stories high and it looped and looped around, you rode in a sack and had elbow socks :0). The kids went on it a lot, but once was enough for Alycia, Emily and I.
After Focus on the Family we went over to this fountain and played in the water. It was just right. And really cool design, with how the water fell. Look to the right my girls are in the orange suits.
Karlee, Anna and Lulu playing in the water.
The fountain had a park next to it, we went over and played. They had this thing you sit in, once you start turning it is kind of hard to stop if you are a little person. Karlee is a little dizzy here, but wanted to keep going.

Later after Scotty got home from work we went to Flying W Ranch for dinner. It was a lot fun. It is a place made up like a western town, and then you have dinner like you were cowhands. They had lots of thing to see and do.
The kids had roping lessons, Matthew and Kelsie getting instruction.
Emily giving it a try and getting her calf.
Karlee giving it a whirl, Kelsie is in the background giving it a go.
Here we are enjoying our yummy dinner.
After dinner there was show with cowboys singing it was really fun.
Thank you so much Emily and Scotty.

Visiting Friends

In August the kids and I took two weeks and drove to Utah. We had a lot of fun. Visited with a lot of friends and family. And had a great time. On the way to Utah we stopped half way in Boise to visit with my roommate Charisse from college. She was so nice and opening her home up to us and letting us stay the night. It so much fun to stay up till the wee hours of the night visiting. Thank you so much Charisse. Another bonus on the way back home we stopped in Boise and was able to visit with her again at the park.
While Utah we got to visit with the Gleed Family. Love them so much and it is always so much fun to get together with them. Kallie was so excited to spend the night and time with Lauren. It is so much fun because the two of them are two weeks apart in age and she knows that she can always count on her for a friend. They had a great time swimming, shopping and being together.
We were also able to go visit my other roommate from college, Keri. I had a great visit with her and was able to see her new little one that she had just three weeks earlier, such a cutie.
Kenner and Miner Kids
The kids had so much fun playing with her kids, asking when we could go back for a visit. It is fun that we have kids about the same ages.
Thank you so much for letting us visit everyone, it was so good to see you.

Lulu Turns One

Olivia's turn one this August and we were able to go to her birthday party. Alycia put so much work into it and it turned out great. I wanted to take tons of picture of the party, but when I went to get my camera out it said the battery was low. I was only able to get one picture there of the cake I made for Lulu. She didn't want anything to do with it at her party, but the next day she got into it. If you want to see more pictures of the party you can go to Alycia's blog.
The following day was Lulu's actual birthday and we gave her a cupcake and sang Happy Birthday to her. This time she got more into the cupcake. We then got together with Cody's family and celebrated Lulu and her great grandpa's birthday. Once again I didn't have my camera with me. If you want to see more pictures of Lulu eating her cake from above picture check it out here. Thank you for letting us spend your birthday with you Lulu!
Happy Birthday Lulu!
You are one sweet little cupcake!
We love you!

Scooby Doo Play

When we were at the parade with got a flyer for the play "Scooby Doo and the Mystery of Oz" and coupon for kids to get in FREE. I debated weather or not taking the kids. But they really wanted to go. Kelsie is in love with Scooby Doo, she plans on being Velma for Halloween. So the kids I went to the play, I was so surprised at how well the kids did. They sat through the whole play and really enjoyed it.
The play was a really cute one. The Scooby Doo gang travels to Oz and get turned into kids, and help Dorthy set things right in Oz. My favorite character was the Yellow Brick Road she was funny popping up through the show. The Children Theater did a great job with props, costumes and sets.
The kids are getting a picture with the star of the show. (He really wasn't in the show they had actual people playing Scooby Doo.)
