On the ninth day it was Memorial Day, Kyle had it off work. We decided to head to Homer and see the Homer Spit. When we got into town it was lunch time, we had told that Stravin Marvin had the best pizza and wanted to give it a try. No such luck it was closed. So we check around with some other restaurants but they were very pricey. So we went to a place that we knew the kids would enjoy and eat the food.
McDonald's and Happy Meals
Lulu and Alycia, Lulu is enjoying her drink!
Then we drove down to the Spit, it is like a boardwalk of stores on a strip of land with water surrounding both sides. So we got out, and walked the boardwalk. On the boardwalk there were a lot of wood carvings and the kids wanted their picture taken by all. Here are some of them.
The whopper of a fish and family
Karlee's hugging the fish (good thing it is not real :0)
Jaron, Kallie, and Bob just for the Halibit
Jaron, Little Bear, and Kallie
The five little bears
This sign cracked me up :0)
After our walk on the board walk we headed down to the beach. It was a beautiful beach- it helped that it was so sunny and warm out. This beach had so many rocks, all the kids were in heaven. Kyle is headed down to the kids to skip rocks, with all the flat ones he found.
Alycia and Lulu just chilling
Karlee building rock people, check our how flat the rocks are.
Love the blue skies and Lulu
Kallie and Kelsie hunting for shells
Jaron showing what he found
We stop by a visitor center, it pretty neat. It had shows to watch, things for the kids to do. And a little hike out back across the wetlands leading to a beach.
It was a really fun trip to Homer and the weather was beautiful.
