I think now that we are on somewhat of a schedule I think that my Mondays are going to turn into a cleaning day and getting me ready for the week. Karlee and I have no reason to be in town other then to drop off and pick up the kids from school. It is so funny because when the kids ask if we are going to town on the weekend. It does seem like we live further away from anything, like stores. We don't live in city limits and you can tell that when the snow plow does his plowing. There is a definite point that he stops in the road and turns around to head back the way he came. Which comes nowhere near our house. There is someone who comes plowing down past our house from the borough, but does not do it as often as the city.
On Tuesday Karlee and I went to play group and met more people. And she had a lot of fun. I think the parts that she likes the most is she can bring a lunch and eat with other little people at little table and chairs, also the part afterwards where they have free range over the gym with lots of balls.
Another fun thing that happen on Tuesday was that Kallie won the Geographic Bee at her school, grades 4-6th). Remember from last week when she won the in her class that made her eligible to participate in the assembly with the other winners from each 4 -6 classes. We are so proud of her. She did not miss any questions. The above picture is her showing me the medal that she got for winning at the assembly. She was so excited as we all were for her.
On Wednesday Karlee and I went to this gymnastic place where some people from play group were going to play. It was a nice play to go and be able to have Karlee run around and bounce off things there, rather then the house and beds. There was a pit that had square sponges in it that the kids could jump in off a trampoline. Karlee tried it once and called it good. She like the bounce house and building with the steps that were used to get on the trampoline.
Jaron also had a field trip today, his class walked down to the fire station and was able to get a tour and got a fire hat and other tokens of his trip. He had a lot of fun and was excited about his field trip.

On Thursday Kyle was able to go to Anchorage to pick up the van. The bishop of the ward and his wife were so kind and gave Kyle a ride up there. We are so grateful for them, they are so nice. They just moved here in May of last year, so they are enjoying their first winter here too. When Kyle had gotten to the van it had about about 10 inches piled on it, he said it took some time to get uncovered and warmed up ready to go. Once he was on his way he headed to get Snow tires put on the van, in hopes of having a safe trip back home. He made made another quick errands before he headed home, one which was Costco (I wish we had one of those closer to us, actually wish we had a lot of stores closer to us.) Then he made the three hour trip home, he said that it was a hard time driving because of the wind blowing snow making the visibility low. But he sad it was really nice to have the snow tires, compared to the trip we took coming in December. He got home about eight and we unloaded the van, which I had packed a snug as bug all below the window line. It was so nice to get the stuff. The kids were in bed (except Karlee) when Kyle arrived home, but as we unloaded the stuff and Karlee saw all her and her brother and sisters stuff she would run it up to them. Soon we had them all up and wanting to get everything out. I then saved all the unpacking and putting the boxes til tomorrow.
Friday as I woke up and a little overwhelmed by all the boxes everywhere, I wanted to put off getting organized. But I received a call from the missionaries reminding us that we were to have them over for dinner. I got to work quickly putting the boxes and stuff away, some boxes may have been just shoved in the closet without being unpacked but the house look not in such array when the missionaries got here. We enjoyed a nice dinner of pizza and salad with them (one said that it was the first time that he had pizza on his mission). Then they gave us a first discussion, it fun to hear the kids answer the questions.
On Saturday we went to start the van so we could go on a family adventure. But the van would not work for us- we figure it had froze up on us. We had left it outside because we only had one stall in the garage for our use. So one car had to be outside. Then van did not like that. All day Saturday we tried many ways to get the van warmed up so that it would start. No such let luck.
* Let me throw a side note in here: This area was experiencing a very cold front. It was not getting above -7 below even during the day. Everyone was shocked by this coldness and kept telling me it was not normal.
On Sunday Kyle had asked for some help to push the van into the garage so it could un-thaw. After church five men came over and helped us out, and we were able to get into the garage. I tried putting a space heater in there to help along the heating process but I don't it made a differences in the two car garage. Since Kyle's car was working we all piled in the car and headed over to some members in the ward that have kids close to our kids age and enjoyed some dessert with them, they had just moved here in August. They let us borrow their battery charger-since we knew that we would be having to jump ours. It was so nice that they did because it work perfect for the van and got it started again.
Fun Fact about Alaska: Gas prices right now are $4.06 a gallon, you would think that it would be cheaper with it being drilled and refined about 30 miles from us. The funny thing is that they drill, refine, then truck it away and then truck back in to us. Probably so they can feel justified in charging that about for gas. Just kidding.
