Field Trip with Jaron

Today I was able to go on a field trip with Jaron's class.
We went to the wildlife refuge in the area, to go snowshoeing.
We each got a pair of snow shoes. We did a relay race in our shoes and then, we were divided into two groups.
First we went and learn about Andrew Berg and how he lived back in his day, when he was the only one in the area. In this photo it looks like it is an open roof, but it is closed off.
We had to find different object he would use in his day. Jaron found a beaver that he would turn into pelts and eat the meat. I had a ladle, which he used in his water bucket and the kitchen.
After the presentation the kids had hot chocolate and then switched activities.

Then we went snowshoeing in the forest and found animal tracks and animals that they had hidden in the forest. Jaron is becoming a tree in the forest and feeling the different seasons as his teacher reads a story.

After we attended each group we went inside and talked about more animals and there tracks, and even got to touch some fur pellets. It was a fun field trip and to spend time with Jaron.
