Last week Kelsie was asked to give a talk in primary. Kelsie and I sat down together and worked on it. She read it many times before. She was so excited to give it. And get the chocolate that they get after they help in opening exercises. Kyle and I went and watch her give her talk. She went right up and stood there all by herself and read her talk she didn't need any help and she spoke loud and clearly.
Here is her talk:
We have a living prophet today, President Thomas S. Monson. In 2 weeks we will be able to hear from him and the apostles at General Conference.I am excited to see them and hear their words, because I know that their words are from Heavenly Father for me.
Six months ago at last General Conference, the prophet told us to pray to Heavenly Father always. So that we have the power and strength to Choose the Right in all we do.
I am grateful to have a living prophet today, and to hear him speak to us. I love Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and my family. I am grateful for Jesus Christ and the example he is to me to choose the right. I say this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
After primary that Sunday her teacher came up to her and asked if she would give the scripture next week. She said yes, excited to get more chocolate (girl after my own heart). I had forgot that she was going to the scripture, so I went to my classes. When I was in Relief Society, I was talking to someone and they asked me my kids ages. So I was telling her them and I got to Kelsie and she said "Oh yeah the one that gave the talk to today in primary". I said "No she gave a talk last week and was doing the scripture today". She said "Nope she gave a talk today". I was shocked.
After church I asked Kelsie if this is what happen, why didn't she give the scripture, and what she talked about. It ended up another kid in her class did the scripture. And her teacher helped her with her topic of example. So since she was just going off the top of her head. This is what she told me she gave as her talk:
I helped my mom with the laundry and I hope you do something like that too. I hope you can be a good example like me. I say this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Hmm.
Well at least she not afraid to get up and speak when called upon. But you never know what you will get if it is not planned.

Ha ha! Love it! Matthew likes to give talks too and I'm always afraid of what he's going to add in there. :) Good job Kelsie!
